In the two decades I spent bringing real-world problems into the classroom and education into the public sphere, I saw the many forms of individual, cultural, and collective trauma from which people all over the world are suffering. I also saw how resilient people are, how much we all want to create lives with hope and meaning, to live with dignity and a sense of purpose. In my extensive work across continents and oceans, in academia, civil society, and government, I have seen the seeds of a thriving future taking root - it is our job to nurture these seeds and help them to grow.
My speaking, consulting, public courses, workshops, and seminars tend these seeds by nurturing the capacity for hope and healing.

Coaching
As an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach, I bring the full range of my expertise in memory and trauma studies and experience as a leader in the nonprofit sector to my work with clients. While there is considerable overlap between Trauma-Informed, Life-Transition, and Transformational Coaching, the emphasis is slightly different for each.
Speaking
As an expert in gender violence, memory and trauma studies, collective violence and the transgenerational transmission of trauma, I speak about the wide range of cultural and collective violences impacting our lives and world. To raise awareness about these things, however, is not enough. My focus in my speaking, workshops, and seminars is on bearing witness to violence in the service of healing the wounds violence repeats, and on bringing trauma-informed practices to every aspect of our lives, work, social, and political engagement.
Consulting, Workshops, and Seminars
As a consultant, I work with university systems and the nonprofit sector to bring a trauma-informed vision and practice to institutions and organizations. I bring to my work a unique combination of expertise with program development, administration, assessment and evaluation in US Universities and international nongovernmental organizations; training as a collective trauma and dialogue facilitator; and study of deep systems transformation.
